Maren has a great scam going. In a world driven by a magical system he cannot even see, he makes a living as a fake sin eater. He mumbles over a cheap bowl, pretends to clear the toxic residue left behind by completed quests, and collects his coins. It is an easy life. Then he accidentally eats the soul of a dead paladin. Suddenly Maren has a furious holy knight living inside his head. Worse, the paladin can read the magical interface Maren is blind to, and he has bad news.
